Cameron Brewing Deviator Doppelbock
Cameron Brewing's oak aged Deviator Doppelbock is something I was really expecting to like. This coffee coloured 8.6% brew with faint caramel nose and almost no head gives a dark, porter-like flavour with hints of molasses, caramel and bitter chocolate. It's somewhat fruity with low carbonation and a fairly smooth mouth feel, leading to a somewhat dryish palate and burned sugar / coffee finish. With a little more sweetness and body this could have been a super beer, but the lack of those leaves it sadly Not Recommended.
