Mount Begbie Tall Timber Ale
Tall Timber Ale from Mount Begbie shares some of the characteristics of a dark lager with a very clear, deep amber colour and medium-high carbonation. With a surprisingly moderate nose, this 5.2% brew has a pleasant but not-at-all-sweet flavour with hints of dark caramel. An excellent hop balance leads to a clean, refreshing finish. Recommended not only by me but by my Canadian friend John, who kindly introduced me to it. :-)
