Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel

This German but Bavarian-styled dunkel was a very pleasant surprise. It wears a number of hats, which being that of a wheat beer, a dark lager and an ale.  Even the label straddles two styles, boldly announcing 'Hefeweissbier Dunkel' as if to further confuse.  But, whilst it can't quite make up its mind what it wants to be, it's a great beer.  Highly carbonated *and* a little yeasty by being bottle-conditioned, this 5.3% brew slips down easily.  It's light like a lager but malty like an ale and this makes it an interesting experience for anyone wanting to try something a bit different.  Recommended.
